The Changing Role of the Nursing Home
One of the major roles of today’s nursing home is to assist people in their recovery from a surgery or major illness. The skilled staff of nurses and therapists work with each individual to regain strength and safely learn to do their normal activities of daily living. Services by our qualified, experienced therapists are available upon referral from a resident's physician. Depending on the individual’s needs a rehabilitation stay could be as short as two weeks or up to three months.
Therapists specialize in physical, occupational, and speech therapy services. Therapists can help to prepare the patient’s home for their needs and provide outpatient services to assure a safe transition home. Each play a specific role in a patient’s recovery.
